YEAR 7 & 8 FOOD TECHNOLOGY – KINGS PARK
What a great start to the year we have had in Food Tech at Kings Park! Year 7 and 8 students arrived super excited and raring to go. Putting into practise safety & hygiene procedures learned in class, students are developing key skills such as wet and dry cooking methods, knife skills, healthy eating, sensory evaluation and presentation techniques. Check out the junior Masterchefs honing their craft in the kitchen …

I love the choc chip cookies we made last week. The chocolate melted and it was delicious to eat. The rice paper rolls were nice too, especially the chicken in it. I like how the teacher makes stuff clear because she tells you what ingredients go into the recipe and shows you how to cook it. Food Tech is really good because I make the food and then when I go home, I get to do it again for my family.

In Food Tech this year, we have cooked every week and have learned new savoury and sweet recipes. They include, french toast, rice paper rolls, baked donuts and chocolate chip cookies. We have also learned about safety and hygiene in the kitchen which is really important when everyone is cooking at the same time. I enjoy learning to cook new food and sharing it with my family and friends.
