Year 8 Police Visit and Talk

Fariba Riazati

On Thursday 16th March, a local police officer came to have a talk with all the Year 8’s. We all had the opportunity to listen to an insightful talk about how we can use technology appropriately and the dangers associated with illegal substances from Constable Peter Williams. The Year 8’s were all brought into the PAC and waited patiently for the event to start. Constable Williams was  able to inform us about safety with his intuitive thinking and amazing story telling. We were able to learn about some of the cases he’s worked on. Some of the stories were alarming and it made me really consider how important it is to make good choices and stay informed. Overall the talk was very informative and helped to broaden the students’ perspectives on the topics discussed.
