ASC Year 12 Sport, Lifestyle & Recreation classes went to Sawtell for a Surf Safety Awareness course with the amazing lifeguards Alex and Jeremy.

Year 12 school captains and supporting staff participated in the Youth Leadership Academy's State Leadership Conference in Sydney. 

The program equips our students and future leaders with the skills and confidence to be change-makers for our school and community, and prepare them for a future in leadership. At the conference they participated in networking activities and listened to a variety of influential guest speakers, including the company CEO Will Massara and Ashanti Dante from Flourish Girls. The ASC captains viewed this as an extremely valuable opportunity to connect with a variety of students and school leaders from a range of regional, rural and city schools across the state, and share how they approach leadership.

The ASC Future Teachers Club have had a very informative morning learning from the very experienced Macquarie Fields FTC. They’ve also learnt about scholarship opportunities for teaching, how to plan a lesson, the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers & are now in the process of planning their own mini Science or HSIE lesson that they will teach tomorrow! #teachersgoplaces
