NAPLAN

Congratulations to all the students and teachers for a fantastic start to NAPLAN testing. Despite some technical issues, students and teachers collaborated to ensure that tests were completed without fuss. Following the writing test on Wednesday, some of the students shared their narratives with me. It was great to see them so excited and positive about their own work.

We know that NAPLAN is a valuable source of information, but it needs to be considered in context of other data as it is only a snapshot in time. The reason that NAPLAN testing has been moved forward in the school year is to provide schools with data which can be used to inform teaching and learning. In the past, it was presented very late in the year and didn’t allow schools to use this information in a practical and timely manner.

Reminder:

Tuesday 21st March 6pm

Annual General meeting- all welcome.

School Council meeting with the new council members.

School Events

Please ensure that you read the whole newsletter each week so that you are aware of the upcoming events.  On Monday there is an incursion for the Year 1/2 students,  3-6 Cross Country on Wednesday, and a school tour for new families is on tomorrow.

I am pleased to inform you that we will be able to conduct Celebrations of Learning at the end of this term. For those of you who are new to DPWPS, Celebrations of Learning are a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase what they have learned during the term. Families  are welcome to attend these sessions in the classroom. More information to come shortly.

Kind Regards,
