BE YOU...
As part of a Student Wellbeing program SJV is part of the 'Be You' that was created through Kidsmatter and Beyond Blue. 'Be You' offers information and resources on specific mental health-related topics designed to help guide learning.
Social and emotional learning (SEL) is about developing the ability to care for others, make responsible decisions, establish positive relationships, and handle challenging situations. These skills are essential for developing resilience and the personal attributes that promote wellness, prevent illness and support recovery.
'Be You' offers resources to support teachers and families, giving in-depth explanations about SEL and why it's important for mental health and wellbeing.
It also covers key skills for resilience, respectful relationships, and help-seeking. The modules they provide also address how to create an empowering environment for children and young people to foster independence and responsibility in everyday learning contexts, experiences and activities.
