We acknowledge that Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne are situated on the lands of the five language groups that make up the Kulin Nations, who have walked upon and cared for this land for thousands of years. We acknowledge their continued deep spiritual connection and relationship to Country.
We pay respects to their Elders past, present and future, and commit to the ongoing journey of reconciliation.
'So it is written that the Christ would suffer and on the third day rise from the dead'
Our Lenten liturgies will take place on Thursday March 30th in the Year 5/6 room at 9.15am. All welcome.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation will take place on Wednesday at 10am after the parish mass. Parents and friends are obviously welcome to join us for this special day for our Year 3's and a couple of other students. Please note that we will not have a professional photographer at this sacrament.
Dear Families
Please note that we will be finishing school at 1.30pm on Thursday 6th April this term.
School closure day
Please note that school is closed for students on Monday 3rd April for staff professional learning (Berry St Day 3)
We had a wonderful week last week culminating in our St Patrick's Day fundraiser and also our P&F Car Wash on Saturday.
Thank you so much to everyone that supported us, either by helping with washing or by bringing your car for a wash. What a wonderful community we have. I noticed a few of you bringing in very clean and already shiny cars to be washed... (thank you ;-)!
We raised $1010.00 !!!!!!
Over a thousand dollars for a few hours of wax on and wax off! We will be doing it again I imagine in a few weeks.
I would like to thank everyone that was involved in the Naplan last week. The tests are quite formal and can be confronting especially for our Year 3 students. Thank you to the staff and the students for getting through the week. The results of the Naplan should arrive earlier in the year so the data remains useful.
We had several families coming through t6he school last week for tours for 2023. All of the families so far have been from Black Rock Pre School and I hope that our partnership starts to bear fruit for 2024.
St Joseph's Feast Day (Sunday 19th) is a special day for us at school.
We will be celebrating Mass together at 9.15am so please come along and join us. It's also our Colour Run Day (12pm - 1.30pm) so please come along and join us for a great big splash of fun!
Three of our Year 4 students have initiated a fundraiser and are also helping keep everyone safe! They have a 'guess the number of acorns' and are hoping to raise some money for some fun stuff!
Well done boys.
P&F Newsletter (thanks Kelly!)
It was great to see so many families at our Family Night on Saturday 4th March. Thank you to the Jones Family for organising, everyone who helped out and everyone who brought a plate to share. We had a magnificent spread of dishes that kept us going well into the night.
What an amazing day we had at the car wash on Saturday 18th March. Thank you to all who helped make the day run so smoothly and to those who brought their car to the best car wash in Black Rock. A special thank you to the Gusman family for planning such a fun event and to Mr Buckley and Mr Sandison for giving up their weekend to shine cars. Hands up if you are in for another car wash?!
