Primary News

Mr Liam Beatty

Dear Primary Families,

At yesterday’s morning assembly our Primary Student Leaders spoke to the boys about the importance of finishing the term well. As part of their address, they reminded the boys in the Primary School about:

  • Wearing their uniform with pride
  • Keeping the Primary rubbish free
  • Following the agreed-upon handball rules
  • Working hard in class
  • Not being out of bounds at break time

In another big week at the College we look forward to welcoming the future Year 5 class of 2022 and their families for our Orientation Day and Parent Information Evening. Our current Year 6 students will also be taking part in their Year 7 2022 Orientation Day on Friday. We wish them all the best on this exciting day.

This week I also look forward to catching up with some of our Primary families at the Father and Son Breakfast. As we celebrate the special day for the fathers and father figures in our community, we offer all our fathers a blessing.

Father’s Day Blessing

God our Father,
You made all things.
Bless these men, that they be strengthened by their faith in you.
Let their example and love shine in our lives forever.
In moments of joy, rejoice with them,
In moments of struggle, be with them.
Grant that we, their sons and daughters,
honour them always with a spirit of respect.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews

Primary Parent/Teacher/Student interviews are coming up in Term 4 on Tuesday 5 October and Monday 11 October. After the success of the Semester 1 2021 interviews, the College is planning to again offer face-to-face interviews at the College and online interviews via Microsoft Teams. The booking process will remain the same for both days and will be via the Parent Portal. More details can also be found on the College App

R U OK? Free Dress Day

This Thursday, the College will have a free dress day to acknowledge R U OK? Day. Boys are encouraged to wear yellow to show support for this important initiative. On Monday evening this week I attended a Youth Mental Health Forum hosted by Di Famer MP. It was a great opportunity to hear about the importance that our leaders are placing on the mental health of our young people.

Chromebooks

All Year 5 and 6 students are asked to bring their Chromebooks to school fully charged this Thursday 2 September. We will be conducting an inventory of our Chromebooks, they will also be used for Year 5 Orientation Day.
