The 2021 Aboriginal STEM Congress

On Thursday the 16th and Friday the 17th of September Olivia, Harper, Kayden, Tyler and Mrs Fox attended the 2021 Aboriginal STEM congress at the Adelaide Convention Centre. The congress aims at engaging students with science, technology, engineering and maths learning and providing industry experiences for students to realise aspirations and take on challenging learning. Throughout the two days we participated in STEM learning experiences and connected with Aboriginal culture to unlock future pathways, connecting with others and challenging our thinking. Olivia, Harper, Kayden and Tyler visited SA water and learned more about the filtration process and conserving water through team challenges and science experiments. They also created pieces of artwork by using natural resources and won the egg challenge at Adelaide Oval. Go team!

Kayden "It was really fun. It encourages us to learn about our culture."

Olivia "I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to attend the STEM congress. It was a great way to expand our knowledge about culture and STEM learning."

Mrs Fox "A huge congratulations to our students who attended this years congress. I was so impressed with your ability to work with other students from different schools, the way with which you shared your knowledge, understandings and opinions with others and how open-minded, confident, brave and thoughtful you were when participating in new experiences. I am grateful that I was able to share the experiences and fun with you."
