STARS IN THE ARENA 2021!

What a night it was! “Stars in the Arena” celebrating 130 years of the Primary Schools Music Festival at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

Year 5, 6 and 7s from the LNPS choir were lucky to join over 1,300 students (and teachers!) on stage to perform along with a live orchestra, hosts, dancers and incredible lighting displays.

A spectacular event that our students enjoyed being a part of. We can't wait for next year!

Choir is fun! - Caitlin

Mrs Barker made singing in choir an exciting experience for me and I want to thank her so much for that - Varsha

If there was a word to describe how amazing the experience was, I would use it. I would like to thank Mrs Barker for teaching us. She did an amazing job! - Mollie

It was really fun hanging out with friends. You should definitely join because Mrs Barker is the best and she makes everything fun. You can sing your heart out. - Ivy

Choir was really amazing and I enjoyed going to the Entertainment Centre. I would definitely do this again if I had the opportunity. -  Hayley

Choir is really fun and enjoyable especially when you get the opportunity to go to the Entertainment Centre to perform. The songs and the chance to learn choreography to do while performing is also fantastic. Students should join choir for an exciting and fun experience. - Ella

When you join choir you get to know a variety of songs and sometimes you can listen to them and calm you down. I recommend choir to young students to open their variety of songs, help them be calm and make their dreams in the future. - Anastasia

The SAPPS Choir

The South Australian Public Primary Schools (SAPPS) Choir is the showcase choir for the Primary Schools’ Music Festival (PSMF) and the SA Department for Education.

Comprised of talented students from Years 5-7, the auditioned members rehearse on Monday nights at PSMF Klemzig. The aim of The SAPPS Choir is to provide a choral extension program that will develop ability and knowledge in upper primary school students who demonstrate a high level of musicianship. Repertoire is generally challenging and includes a wide range of genres and styles.

The choir performs on 10-12 occasions each year, including two concerts for parents, families and friends. Performances may include Choral Eisteddfods, formal events and featuring as Guest Artists at the annual Festival of Music. It is the principal recording choir for the program repertoire that is distributed to schools throughout South Australia. Auditions are scheduled for Term 4 every year.
