Principal's Message

Mr Ian Elder

Staff Update

Congratulations, Dr Michael Battersby!

Pastor Michael Battersby, like many teachers, has continued studying. As a result, he has gained a Doctor of Musical Arts (Performance Psychology) and can be addressed as "Doctor".  This is an outstanding achievement, and we are very proud of him.

When explaining this at Friday's Primary School Assembly, many of the students were keen to acknowledge him as "Dr Pastor Michael". However, I did suggest to the students that they should not seek medical advice from him!

Happy Maternity Leave, Arielle!

Our lovely receptionist, Arielle, is going on maternity leave at the end of this week.  She has served our King's College community so cheerfully and faithfully, and she will be missed.  We wish her a safe and happy delivery of her new baby!

We welcome Grit Andre and Portia Adams to our Reception Team, who will be filling in for Arielle for the rest of the year.  Grit and Portia are already a part of our King's community and are looking forward to serving our parents and students.

Student Voice

Last term, I asked the secondary students to give me feedback on The King's College's best features and areas where we could improve.  I released the data to the students at a recent Assembly and have discussed the results with staff and College Board.

I thank the students for their responses and have assured them that actions will be taken. A summary of responses from students is in the Student Voice section of the newsletter.

Other Exciting Initiatives

Later this term, more details will be provided on our plans for a new primary school and some other building priorities.  The College Board has reviewed recent feedback from both staff and students, and the lack of a canteen has been discussed.  Hopefully, I will be able to communicate a solution to this canteen request before the end of the Term.

Pictured below is the improved parking areas.  Over the years, we have tolerated very wet and boggy areas that made the picking up and dropping off times most unpleasant.  We need to make continued improvements at the college, and many parents commented on this area.

NCCD Information
