Wellbeing Activities Article

Over the past 2 weeks, our Year 7 Leaders, Ms Miller and Ms T, kindly put together some wellbeing activities for us to enjoy as some time away from the screen and opportunities to have fun and engage with one another while still being apart. We wish to express our gratitude, appreciation and enjoyment through this article and hope to see each other again soon at MGC!

Last Monday, we engaged in a yoga/hip hop session with Rita and Estelle. In the yoga class, Rita involved us all with some relaxing yoga poses and moves. This was a highly enjoyable session to relax and stretch. The hip hop routine was very interactive, enjoyable and got our bodies moving! It was lots of fun and a great way to start the morning! Thank you for the amazing experiences Estelle and Rita!

Last Wednesday, we participated in a wellbeing day that involved a bingo challenge. We were all given a 4x4 grid with activities to do inside each square. These activities were designed to help us get away from the screen and get us moving more. Some of the activities were making a 3 course meal, reading a book, going for a walk/run/or some sort of physical activity and many more. This was a really fun and engaging competition to earn house points.

The following Monday, we got involved in a Bollywood dance lesson with Hith from Bindaas Bollywood Dance Company. She taught us different hand motions for the dance, taught us about different Indian cultures and where the dances are incorporated in their lifestyle. This was a session we believe everyone could participate in and enjoy with each other, even through a screen. Thanks Hith!

We have had lots of fun in the last 2 weeks with these wellbeing activities that Ms T and Ms Miller have generously put together for us. We look forward to the Health and P.E. week activities that have been thoughtfully put together by the Sport and P.E. staff as well as more Year 7 wellbeing activities for us to enjoy!
