Diversity Team

Hey everyone!

I hope everyone is doing well in Lockdown 6.0!

On 27th August was Wear It Purple Day, which is an annual LGBTIQA+ awareness day especially for young people, based in Australia. Supporters wear purple to celebrate diversity and young people from the LGBTIQA+ community. Since 27th August was a curriculum day, we celebrated on 26th August by encouraging teachers and students to wear purple and have purple Teams background and participate in the Instagram Giveaway.

Smi Soni, Diversity Captain and Cameron Upfield, College Captain, were to have an interview on JOY radio's Breakfast Show to discuss what Wear It Purple Day means to them and their experiences as Diversity Captain and a youth member of the Rainbow Community.  While technical issues prevented this interview from taking place, it has been rescheduled for a later date in September/October pending restrictions.

We hope you all are staying safe, indulging in self care, and enjoying the lovely sun!

Smi, Ruby and the Diversity Team
