District Swimming Carnival

By Pratiti,  5B & Cleo, 5A, Student competitors

On the 21st of February a few students from NMPS went to the District Swimming Carnival at Queens Park Swimming Pool in Moonee Ponds.

When we got there, the pool was as clear as ice and just as cold. In the morning it was quite pleasant, but as time went through the day it started to get gloomy and cold.  After awhile it started to rain on and off, so it got even more cold for us as we were wet. Some people didn’t want to swim anymore because it was that freezing!

The competition started with freestyle and ended with medley relay races.

Overall lots of NMPS students placed first second and third, we did so well that we got our school name on the big first-place shield!

Everyone tried their very best at the carnival.

A big thank you to all of the parents and the teachers who helped organise and encourage the swimmers!
