YEAR 8 PROGRAM - SUPERPOWERS

South Oakleigh's Year 8 science students representing SOC were involved in a 3-day program at the Monash Tech School from Wednesday 4 March until Friday 6 March.

This program offered our Year 8 students a better understanding of new energy. Students were asked to design solutions to problems that incorporated new energy systems.

They began the program by touring Monash University to observe and understand how new energy solutions are used in the real world, observing first-hand how changes are being made by the university.

Students then worked in groups to develop a new energy system for their township. They looked at marketing as well as design and technology as they made new apps to promote their new idea.

This program allowed for interdisciplinary learning as students collaborated and solved problems to complete their own brief.

Presentations allowed for a celebration of 3 days of work on the final day of their program.
