Acting Principal's Report

Acting Principal's Report

Looking at the calendar, we are already three-quarters of the way through the year. It is the last week of Term 3 and the term break is just round the corner!

I am taking this opportunity to thank our parents, school council members, students and staff members for the trust and support through this school term providing the opportunity for me to take on this acting principal role readily and to continue implementing the School’s goals in student learning and wellbeing, and teaching and learning of staff members.

ABLES

Teachers and therapists are unpacking the Movement learning area of the ABLES tool. The mobility, accessibility using supporting aides and the muscle tone and strength building have a significant impact on the physical wellbeing of our Belmore students. From discussing and defining the statements of the student’s performance in the ABLES tool, Belmore staff are documenting the decisions and guidelines which can support and further validate the process. This process will provide a more consistent and accountable date collection which reflect our students’ performance.

Enrolment

We have four students graduating at the end of this year. Currently we have 4 fulltime students and 1 part time (0.4) student enrolled for 2019.

One student will be starting in Term 4 2018.

Official Opening of Belmore School Hydrotherapy Pool

Friday 21st September, there will be an official opening of our refurbished Belmore School Hydrotherapy Pool. There will be the usual end of term three whole school assembly, then students and all dignitaries, including Andrew Tait, Jo Rush, Kia Sandler and Jane Nathan from Hawthorn Community Chest, Flourish ladies, Maria and Josh from Josh Frydenberg’s office, Paul and Rodney of Paul's Pools Company and our School Councillors, will be at the entrance of the pool, having a ribbon-cutting ceremony. There will be light refreshment afterwards to celebrate this event and time to personally thank all our sponsors on this amazing project which benefit our school community.

I am taking this opportunity to thank our parents, school council members, students and staff members for the trust and support through this school term providing the opportunity for me to take on this acting principal role readily and to continue implementing the School’s goals in student learning and wellbeing, and teaching and learning of staff members.

Wish you all a safe and wonderful break.
