Is your child covered for a trip in an ambulance?

Dear Families,

We strongly encourage all families to check that they are covered by Ambulance Victoria.

The Department of Education and Training (Lyndhurst Secondary College) does not provide personal accident insurance or Ambulance Cover for students.

Where there is a medical emergency

Staff will take emergency action without waiting for parent/guardian consent. Delays in these circumstances could compromise safety.

Emergency medical transport service is not free and not covered by Medicare. If your child requires ambulance transportation you will be invoiced by Ambulance Victoria. 

The College is not responsible for and unable to pay ambulance costs.  Your Health Insurance may not cover you either. Costs start at around $1000 and can be as much as $3000 for a short distance. An Ambulance Victoria family membership for 1 year is only $95.00 or free with some government cards.
