Friday morning's Mother's Day Breakfast and Assembly was a fantastic way to kick off Mother's Day celebrations for all of our SFX Mums, Grandmothers and other special people. The hall was a buzz from early in the morning with all in attendance enjoying a beautiful breakfast, consisting of freshly made (real) coffee, fruit, yoghurt, croissants, smoked salmon and muffins.
Special thanks to the Parent's Association for their incredible work organising this event as well as the Mother's Day Stall on Thursday. Jane Fraser and Mia Jones were, once again leading the team to put on another fantastic community building event. It was also wonderful having so many dads available to help in the kitchen. They worked tirelessly, making coffees, frothing milk and washing dishes.
Congratulations to the children listed below who have been elected by their classes as Student Leaders for Term Two. They will be receiving their badges at the assembly on Thursday

Catholic Bishops of Australia 2019 Federal Election Statement
Politics in Service of Peace
In the statement the bishops call for respect in public debate, share Catholic social teaching and detail some key issues to reflect on before we vote. The statement is structured explicitly around Catholic Social Teaching. It consistently emphasises the unique dignity of each human being, and in its reflections on welfare and the economy it privileges the common good rather than private profit. The responsibility of society, and so of government, to the most disadvantaged in society is also stressed. It invites Catholics to use this resource to reflect on the issues raised in the election. It also urges them to speak about the issues with their fellow Australians. The full statement can be read online.
Congratulations to our brave Cross Country runners who braved the elements at the District Cross Country event, held at Eltham Lower Park on Wednesday 8 May. To find out about how our children fared and to view some photos, read the report by Charlotte Hunter in the Events section of this Newsletter. Thanks to Charlotte and the team who made this event possible for our children.
Schools must now complete the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) every year. It counts the number of students who receive additional adjustments or “help” at school because of a disability. The NCCD helps governments plan for the needs of students with disability. Please click here to access a copy of the NCCD Information Sheet for Parents, Carers and Guardians.
Best wishes for the week ahead,
