We were off to a slow start tonight with our team facing the St Davids Wolfs.  We are still working on our defence skills and would love to see more passing between our players.  With lots of enthusiasm from the support crew next to the court and positive play from our team, we ended with a well deserved win of 25 to 3 over the Wolfs.

Scorers:  Ashrith 11 pts, Harry 4 pts, Divan 8 pts and Hudson 2 pts.

U8 GS Thunder

The GS Thunder met the CH Cubs for an enthusiastic clash on the court.  With lots of new faces this season, it was great to see all the players having a go at passing and dribbling.

The team is learning to look for their teammates and improve their court positions in offence, and they’re already putting up a good defence.  It takes time to learn the rules, which unfortunately stalled our plays, but everyone was in good spirits at the end.  Finn scored a foul shot and the first point of the season for the team!

 U12 GS Shooters

It was great to have 5 players return to the GS Shooters this season and we welcomed new teammates, Dhairya and Wian.

It took a little while to get back into the swing of things being 2 points down at half time. We regrouped and came back strong in the second, winning by 14 points. The kids felt great and demonstrated excellent teamwork throughout the game. This is a great sign and a fantastic start to the season.

Scorers: Alistair 8 pts, Jacob 6 pts, Kadin 6 pts, Dhairya 4 pts, Micah 4 pts and Jaxon 2 pts.

U7 GS Stars

Well our little stars went into the game with a few things to remember and execute.  Well done to you all for remembering where your zones were and not breaking them.

We watched excitedly as you intercepted a few passes which allowed us to get it into our goal circle and have a chance at a shot.

You all had moments of excellent play from pivoting and not stepping, intercepting and rebounding.  Above all it was a great defensive game.

Well done team!

U11 GS Lightning Bolts

Friday night was a great game to watch and learn on how you play and work together.. I think you all have some great skills that in time will make you strong competitors.

We started off strong but tired after half time.. still, you remained positive and determined to do your best.

You all put in an excellent effort and your red faces surely were proof of that.  Well done girls.  Here's to a fun term of netballing!
