Bake Stall fundraiser this Monday

A group of students in Stage 4 were moved to take action, after seeing the devastating impact of bushfires across Australia in recent months. They met with me and presented their idea for a fundraiser Bake Stall. It will be taking place at recess time on Monday next week (17 Feb), and all catering will come from our Stage 4 students and families. We would love to see the event well supported across the school, and help to raise much needed funds for those most affected by the fires.

ELC Carpark Line Marking

Please note that the ELC carpark will be closed for cleaning and line marking on Monday 16 February and Tuesday 17 February between 9am and 2pm.

Please DO NOT use this carpark on either day during these times.

Below is a plan showing the new arrangement of parking spaces. You will notice that we are changing the design to create a clockwise flow around the carpark. The driveway remains as two-way traffic and will require your continued care and patience to function safely. Please be on the look-out for children and pedestrians at all times and drive with care.

Thank you.

School Photos

Photo day is Tuesday 3 March.

Please return the envelope (coming home today) to the front office by Friday 27 February.

If you are not purchasing photos, you still need to return your envelope.

Family envelopes, for a photo of siblings here at school, are available from the office on request.

Term 1 Chapel Offerings

Chapel offerings this term will be going towards Bushfire Relief coordinated by Lutheran Community Care.

Lutheran Community Care responded immediately to the recent SA bushfires by providing hampers filled with food, toys and hygiene packs to people affected by this disaster in Lobethal, Birdwood and Woodside.

However, the trauma in bushfire affected communities doesn’t just last for the weeks following a fire, it lasts for months and years to come.

Lutheran Community Care’s focus has now turned to providing practical and long-lasting support through a range of services including personal and financial counselling.

Financial counselling is a vital response to a natural disaster, as the sooner people can get support, the quicker they can stabilise their financial situation and get their lives back on track. Counsellors provide advice on a wide range of issues, such as renegotiating mortgages and payments, whether people should accept cash settlements from insurance companies, advise on the loss of leased goods and ensure people know their rights.

There is a long road ahead for many people in the Adelaide Hills and Kangaroo Island as they begin to rebuild their homes, properties and lives, so we are calling on the community to get behind us and help us support South Australians in crisis.
