Principal's Report

Dear families
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to making our Boronia Heights Fete so successful. We have so many people in our community who give up their valuable time to ensure our children are given the best opportunities possible. A huge thank-you to Lynne Ellis and her hard working fete committee who layed the foundations for a community extravaganza. Also a big thank-you to all staff and parents who provided the most amazing and enjoyable activities for all of us. There was certainly something for everyone!! It is with great excitement that I can announce that we have made around $23,000. This is an outstanding amount and we all should be extremely proud of our efforts. The Boronia Heights community definitely showed their support and passion for our school and it never ceases to astound me how special days like Saturday bring our community together. The people in our community make our school a special place to be.
Moving on
If your children are not returning in 2017 could you please inform the office or your child’s classroom teacher as we are starting to organise our classes and school structure for 2017 school year.
Year Six Camp
Year six camp is next week and they’re off to Camp Coonawarra which is an outdoor adventure camp. It is a fabulous camp with plenty of challenging, fun and team building activities. Good luck year six.
2017 Prep Transition
Last Friday was our first prep transition for the year and we had around 80 preschool children attend our school in the afternoon. The children were great, and it was wonderful to meet them and watch how happily they interacted with each other and the teachers. The next Transition session is on Friday 21st October where the current Prep teachers and the Prep buddies will host a group of children and their parents for an activity. A reminder to our current parents that if you have a pre-school child and haven’t yet enrolled, that enrolment forms are available from the office.
Farewell to Carlie Williamson
Last week we also took the opportunity as a school to farewell Carlie Williamson and wished her all the very best in beginning her journey as a mum. We look forward to hearing her good news soon. Thank-you Carlie for your dedication to Boronia Heights.
