Congratulations to Melina Ayres (Year 12) who plays for South Melbourne in the Senior Womens' Soccer League. They won the competition and will play Finals over the next couple of weeks.

 

Melina also won the Golden Boot Award for scoring 38 goals for the season, 21 goals ahead of second place. She will attend a few camps in Canberra for the national Young Matildas, who will be competing in China in October and hopefully France in the World Cup in August 2018.

 

What an outstanding effort in scoring the goals and we wish you all the success in being selected in the teams in the coming months.

DEBUT EP FOR MCKINNON SINGER/SONGWRITER

Year 11 student, Jordan Kellaway, songwriter and lead singer of the band The Captive, (who played at the City of Glen Eira's Party in the Park earlier this year) is releasing his "long awaited and much anticipated" debut EP, CATALYST on Monday 25 September.

 

Recorded at the world renowned Black Pearl Studios in Moorabbin, the 4 track EP took over a week to record and Jordan was joined by a number of Year 11 classmates on the project, including Rony Olesh and Liz Tsagliotis on vocals, Ofri Shahar on drums and Lucy El Osta adding a touch of elegance on Cello.

The EP will be available for download on all the major music platforms and stay tuned for news about some gigs and shows over the coming months.

BLUE BELT IN JUDO

Congratulations to Amit Ben-Harim (Year 11) who passed a Judo practical and knowledge test, called Grading, at the Judokan Judo Club.

 

This is no easy task and requires a great deal of practice. The grade is awarded by the presentation of a coloured Judo belt and a certificate. Amit was awarded a Blue belt.
