HOW PARENTS CAN HELP WITH STUDENT PROJECTS, RESEARCH ETC
Students at McKinnon have 24/7 online access to World Book Encyclopaedia and Britannica. These authoritative sites can be reached via links on the McKinnon library homepage. The site is an excellent starting point for many school projects as they give concise information. Please have a look and familiarise yourself with what is available.
AND REACHER SAID
If you like a good thriller you should read a Jack Reacher book. Lee Child is the author of this phenomenally successful series that features Jack Reacher a 6’5” former MP as its central character. Tom Cruise loved the books so much he bought the movie rights for the entire series. Author Lee Child receives a $20 million advance from his publishers for each novel (he says he will only write 22). The novels would appeal to upper secondary school students looking for a “I couldn’t put it down” thriller.

LIBRARY LOANS
The current loan period for most items is four weeks. Many items borrowed during the school holidays will become due on the first day back of Term 4. If you have not finished with your books go online to renew for another four weeks. This must be done prior to the item becoming overdue. If a book or item you want is on loan you can also reserve it on line. (Books currently listed as available cannot be reserved).
