Parent Opinion Surveys

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents think of our school. The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst a sample of randomly selected parents. It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour and student engagement. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

Approximately 30 per cent of parents will be invited to participate in this year’s survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous. This year the Parent Opinion Survey will be conducted from now until  Sunday 26th August. Parent Opinion Surveys were mailed out earlier this week.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 10-15 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the  period above on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

The survey results will be reported back to the school at the end of September.

Naidoc Week

This year NAIDOC week was from the 8th to the 15th of July. It was a week to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

NAIDOC stands for ‘National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee.

Each year there is a different focus for the NAIDOC celebrations. This year being the theme ‘Because of Her, We Can!’.

On Thursday, 19th July, Wanganui Park Secondary College celebrated NAIDOC week by holding a whole school assembly. Several of our Indigenous students spoke to recognise and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.

Many thanks to the students involved who spoke and entertained the audience with a dance performance. A special thank you to Corey Walker who performed the smoking ceremony.

Bell Shakespeare

Riverlinks and Bell Shakespeare present:

JULIUS CAESAR by William Shakespeare

Riverlinks WestSide, Mooroopna

Thursday 2 August, 7.30pm.

Bell Shakespeare is arguably one of the best Shakespearean theatre companies in the world and Riverlinks is delighted to be bringing them to Shepparton, direct from Sydney Opera House and the Arts Centre in Melbourne as part of their major national tour.

Julius Caesar is Shakespeare's political thriller, a masterpiece of intrigue and treachery. The production bubbles with rage and intrigue, leaving audiences breathless at how quickly violence reveals the fragility of democracy.

Those that rise too fast must be dealt with. For the good of the country. For the good of those who wish to be rulers themselves.

Starring Kenneth Ransom as Caesar and featuring an ensemble cast of ten actors.
