Foundation Students

Celebrating our  fabulous Foundies!

FA - Miss Zoe

We learnt all about Harmony Day and celebrated what makes us, US! We had great discussions about how we look different, have different holidays and families and even how some of us speak different languages at home. Apparently there is an ice cream language that Matilda speaks!

Each day we add one more counter, block and icypole stick! We are always very excited when we make a new group of 10. This is a great way to work on our place value of two digit numbers. It is relevant and authentic learning, that we do everyday! We are excited to get to 100 days of being at school! We are now at 36 days.

FB - Miss Ady

This week in Foundation B we have been learning about Graphs. We collected data, collated it in a tally then represented our data on a Pictograph. We investigated Foundation B’s favourite ice cream flavours. Rainbow was the clear winner! The children loved seeing the data clearly represented using their own pictures.

Students in Foundation B we have been excitedly getting ready for Easter! We have been busy carefully colouring, cutting and gluing our Easter baskets in preparation for a visit from the Easter Bunny. It took a lot of focus and concentration and we are very proud of our masterpieces!

FC - Miss Lou and Mrs Clancy

Students in Foundation C chose their favourite flavour ice-cream and analysed the results. They knew that the rainbow flavour was the class favourite and that choc chip was one of the least favourites.

Below is an example of a Soundwaves activity page. This is completed after the letter sound chant is introduced and brainstormed.   Well done on the letter 'Ee' page Hamish A!
