School Leaders

This week from our School Leaders:

Environment Captain:

Jemima

Hi my name is Jemima, and I am a proud Environment Captain this year.

This year I want to make our school even more environmentally friendly for the planet, for people and for animals. I want to help the school increase our composting and have a better recycling system. I want to make our beautiful garden and our mini-market even better. So please come to our Wednesday mini-markets after school!

The role is important to me because I can do my part helping earth, animals and our community.

By going through the application process, I learnt that it takes a lot of courage to tell people why you are a good leader. I also learnt that grade 6 kids have many different, good ideas to make the school better.

I am passionate about the environment, animals, gardening, art and girl guides.

A special thing about me is that I grew up in Thailand where I went to an environmentally friendly school that was made from earth and bamboo. The school had a farm and grew our own rice and that's where I got my passion for gardening and the environment.

Performing Arts Captains:

Lucinda

Hello, my name is Lucinda and I am one of the performing arts captains here at Monty this year. I was so excited to be elected. I love to sing, dance and act. I cannot wait to work with all the kids at Monty especially the preps because they love to learn new dances. So far, we have had a lot of grade 5/6 students come to audition for a production role. Since I’ve been at Monty, production has always been the highlight of my year! This role is important to me because I hope to make 2021’s production ‘dancing through the decades’ the best one yet.

Lachie

My name is Lachie Napper, and I am a grade 6 Performing Arts captain at Monty in 2021. Performing arts is very important to me because I love theatre and music. My favourite type of music is 90s punk rock and I love going to the theatre.

When I am not performing arts captain (every weekend) I am going to church, playing music (at the moment I am learning 90s songs on my electric guitar🎸) bike riding, playing video and board games

Whilst I was applying for this role, I have learnt that anything that you put your mind to will be possible. I find public speaking very scary and doing a speech in front of 100 people is not my cup of tea but I still did it and now I am performing arts captain!

This year I hope to achieve to help put on the best production that the school could ever have and, to make choir better than ever before.

Thanks for reading!!

Spencer

What I want to achieve most as as performing arts captain is getting more people to take interest in the production and the roles.

The reason why this role is massively important to me is because I have a strong passion for dance singing acting music and many more and I would like people to think performing arts is a lot of fun and responsibility.

What I learned from going through the stages is if you don’t get chosen u will always love to do what you do and  you can still be happy that you tried and that you got this far.

Well what I’m most passionate about at school is inter school sport, music, art and may more things.

What I’m most passionate about out of school is of course my football training/matches, going for bike rides with family/friends and singing at home.

Well one cool thing about me is that I have two different coloured eyes which I think is pretty epic and I think that’s about.
