Grade 3/4 Students

Celebrating our tremendous Threes and fabulous Fours !

3/4A - Miss Lee

Fiction or Non-Fiction – That is the Question!

Students in 3/4A have been investigating fiction and non-fiction texts in our reading sessions.  Here, Celina, Sarah, Javier, Mia, Evelyn, Kian, Noah and Eli investigate and create a checklist to determine the differences between the text types.  Job well done detectives!

3/4B - Miss Brook

'Rounding Snakes and Ladders'

As our Place Value Unit in Term 1 comes to an end, students explored rounding and how numbers can go up or down to ‘friendlier’ numbers ending in 0 to make it easier for us to count.

3/4C -  Mr Lewis

The students have finished competing in the Potato Olympics and have compiled the class results. They have used the data to create pictographs. Indigo was the name of Nickan’s potathlete. She was competing for the USA.

3/4D - Mr Mitch

This week in 3/4D we focused on our ‘sizzling starts’ within narrative writing. J.J is seen using the VCOP (Vocabulary, Connective, Openers and Punctuation) pyramid to assist him with his writing.

We are also excited to announce that the 'Potato Olympics' was held last week across all 3/4. classes. Students used their potathletes to compete in various games and record the results.

3/4E - Ms Margarita

Our class were very excited to participate in our STEM incursion which focussed on engineering and working together - because teamwork makes the dream work!

In writing last week, 3/4E continued with their narrative writing by participating in a Big Write using the prompt 'The Strange Egg'. They used VCOP elements to improve their writing and worked hard to ensure the piece was completed in a double session- WOW! It was very exciting to see so many personal bests achieved!
