2A - Miss Meagan and Mrs Bird
There has been much excitement in 2A as we played Maths games this week. Here are some photos of the children playing Place Value War. Lots of fun!
2B - Miss Bailey and Mrs Hunter
Unbelievably, we blinked and the term has finished! The beautiful, happy and cheerful students have made such an excellent start to the new school year. They have worked incredibly hard to do their best each day. They have demonstrated acceptance and support in their friendships and they find joy and laughter in every day. A very big thank you to the children and parents of 2B who have welcomed me to Montmorency Primary so openly and kindly, it has been an enjoyable and rewarding term.
As a class, we have been reading, ‘The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane’ by Kate DiCamillo. As Edward Tulane is a toy china rabbit, this week has been an ideal time to focus on depicting the literary elements in the novel during our reading sessions. This has included creating a character profile, story wheel and writing alternative endings to the story.
As a wrap-up to our maths unit on Place Value, we designed a castle using MAB blocks and then calculated the value of each castle!
2C - Mrs Mac
Students are working on building and representing two-digit numbers in a variety of ways. MAB blocks are a fantastic way to differentiate the tens and the ones.
