Leadership @ MPS
Reflection
This term we have been fortunate to be able to share so many opportunities to engage with the whole school community including the Welcome Picnic, Working Bee, Parent Teacher Meetings, Parent Helpers in the classroom and kitchen, assemblies and of course the Easter Hat Parade. Being able to spend time together is something that was certainly missed last year and the opportunity to reconnect in a face-to-face setting has highlighted the strength and importance of our school community.
We would like to thank all of the families who came along to the Working Bee and persevered through the drizzly rain! We also thank our teachers for their preparation and enthusiasm through last week's Parent Meetings.
There are several other community events coming up over the course of the year including our Movie Night, the Colour Run, and the long-awaited whole school production. Keep up to date with Compass notifications for more information.

Student Leaders
A few weeks ago, our Grade 6 student leaders were involved in a leadership induction program. See what they had to say about it below:
On the 12th of March we had an induction meeting with all of the Grade 6 leaders including our SRC members, Mrs Rentos and Mrs Worsam.
The first activity was to grab a sticky note and write down quality traits that we have, then we got in to 4 different groups and discussed all the traits that explained us and why.
We learnt that everyone is different and everyone has things to work on.
Then we watched a video of how a kid made a business out of crayons and it explained that kids can achieve anything if we put our mind to it.
After recess completed a quiz asking questions about our different things we like and what we would do in different situations. At the end of the quiz we received a report highlighting our character strengths and they were assigned to an animal so we could tell who was similar and who was different. I got a parrot which means I am whimsical, talkative and full of ideas. Sarah got an elephant which means 'lover of people'.
We have learnt so much about ourselves from this meeting and loved every bit.
