Sonshine FM "Free Coffee Friday"

A huge thank you to Sonshine FM, Mr Webb for taking up the opportunity with short notice and the school community for making Free Coffee Friday an amazing morning.  For a Chaplain this is a very sort after event and a great opportunity to be able to promote our school on such a platform.  Additionally to have the chance for students to speak on the radio and see a live broadcast in progress was really fantastic. I have had lots of positive feedback from people inside and outside of our community who listened  and said that our school sounds like a wonderful place.  The free coffee was a bonus!

Kids Who Care and the Playground

Mrs Campbell and I have now completed the 4 modules of training with the year 5 and 6 students and look forward to re-establishing Kids Who Care in the playground next term. In our last couple of sessions we have had some good discussion about what the students believe our playground to look, feel and sound like.  It is our aim to improve in all areas.  I have given the year 5 and 6 students a challenge for them to step up and model expected behaviours in the playground.  Some of these include conflict resolution, finding fun, safe and inclusive games to play and kind words to all those around us.  I look forward to sharing with you some of the positive results across term 2.

Finally I wish you all a safe and wonderful term one holiday break.  Make sure you do something a little outside your comfort zone. To each of the staff and students that was term one!  So many things achieved, be very proud and enjoy your break!

Have a wonderful holiday.
