From the Head of Library
Our library classes in the first week of Term Two explored ANZAC Day literature. We have enjoyed student-made poppies decorating the library. We recycled our hearts and made them into poppies! Thank you to the Year Six students who gave up their time to put them together.
We have also been talking about what excites us about learning. Here are a few of my favourite quotes from our Junior School students.

National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS)
NSS is an Australian wide celebration of reading together and falls in Week Five on Wednesday 19 May. It is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. Now in its 21st successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year Six. Scholastic Book Club
Book Club forms for Term Two have been handed to classes and are due back on Friday 7 May. There are two options for ordering.

- Please enclose cash with your completed order form. Cheques should be made payable to Scholastic Australia. Your completed forms can be handed in to the Library.
