Principal News

Walking around our school, I am impressed on a daily basis. Impressed with the caring nature of our students, their manners and the joy on their faces.
I cannot be more proud of the way staff support and cater for the individual needs of students in their learning spaces.
At CSPS, we truly 'know' each and every student; their aspirations, their quirks, their humour... what makes them tick.
Hats off to the staff of CSPS.

NAPLAN
Congratulations to the Year 3 & 5 students for their positive perseverance in the recent NAPLAN testing period. The students were passionate in trying their very best and being proud of their efforts.
During this time, the Year 4 & 6 students conducted 'practice' NAPLAN, to prepare for themselves in what NAPLAN looks like and feels like. Great proactive approach team.
Making Schools Safer for Everyone
Victorian school communities are overwhelmingly positive and safe places for teaching and learning where we all play a role in supporting students in their achievements, engagement and wellbeing needs.
It is likely that you have heard the recent media announcements that the Victorian Government has introduced the Education and Training Reform Amendment (Protection of School Communities) Bill 2021. If passed through parliament, the proposed Bill would come into effect in May 2022.
For further information in how we are making school safer for everyone, please refer to the attached letter.
It has been reported that a few students have been jumping the Pearcedale Road fence before and/or after school.
To ensure safety at all times, students are asked to exit the school on Browns Road and safely walk around the roundabout if being picked up on the Pearcedale side and/or neighbouring petrol station.
The Pearcedale Road exit of our school is regularly monitored by office and Principal class. We ask for parent support in ensuring implementation of school safety procedures.

Changes to School Council Membership for 2021
School Council can have a maximum of 12 members, however we currently only have 10 members. School Council (with DET advice) can function at 10 members, and will do so for the remainder of 2021.
However, if there is a parent that would like to join School Council for the remainder of the year as a co-opted member, please email the SC President.
Parent Payments for 2021
In Term 1, 2021approximately 400 schools in Victoria were randomly selected to have their Parent Payments Statement of Charges and Fees audited. We were one of those schools selected.
The audit is to make sure that all schools clearly indicate what are considered 'Essential Student Learning Items'.
The audit did not relate to the actual fees, and we are still very proud to have one of the lowest school fees of the area.
Helping everyone to stay safe
Just a gentle reminder, that if your child is unwell, please keep them at home.
Viruses and nasty little germs spread quickly and easily in warm classrooms where children are working closely and co-operatively together.
