Ciao, welcome back to Term 2.  Hope everyone had a great break!

 

0LR, 0RA and 0AW will be introduced to Italian, students will be listening to a story about Pinocchio, (Ecco Pinocchio!) learn a counting song, a song about body parts and a good morning song.  They will also learn the language associated with greetings, numbers 0 - 5 and learning some of the colours.

 

1AS, 1HB, 2KG and 2NB will be starting their Italian lessons. They will be revising what was learnt last year and learning about colours and family members.  They will be reading a book called, ‘Il pappagallo’ (the cockatoo). 

 

The Year 3 and 4 students will be listening to a story about animals.  They will learn the names of animals in Italian. They will continue revising the language associated with greetings, numbers and colours.

 

The Year 5 and 6 students will continue to revise and build on previous knowledge of numbers, colours, days of the week, months of the year and greetings.  Students will learn the vocabulary in Italian for rooms in a house. They will practice reading the date in Italian. The students are learning a poem about the months, please encourage them to practise this at home.

A reminder to students and parents to visit sites such as Languages Online (only the worksheets and posters can be accessed), Duolingo, to review and practise their Italian at home.  These sites have many interactive games, songs and worksheets that you can complete with your child.  We will be using these resources in the classroom so your child will be familiar with them. They are both free!

 

Gladstone Park Secondary College

An Italian Immersion Celebration Night will be held on Wednesday 5th May, 2021 from 7:00pm-8:00pm in the Performing Arts Centre.  You must book tickets in order to attend, tickets are free.  https://www.trybooking.com/BPZQ   At the end of the night, teachers will be available in the cafeteria to provide further information.
