Exceptional achievement in Art

Looking forward to great things in 2020

2019 was an exceptional year for the Art faculty at Northcote High School. Our Art show was a huge success and reflected the exciting creative culture that has been cultivated in the Art Block.

The Art faculty is also very excited about the very high academic scores achieved by our year 12 students in the areas of Studio Art, Visual Communication and Design (VCD) and Media.  Among the highlights are Cora Hughes who achieved a study score of 49 in Studio Art and Leah McCabe who scored 50 (a perfect score) in VCD.  

We would also like to congratulate Charlie O'Brien who got accepted into Top Arts and Will Allen who was accepted into Top Designs. These are yearly exhibitions that showcase the very best folios in the state.

Most of our Art and VCD students were accepted into their desired tertiary courses with many gaining places into prestigious VCA, RMIT and Melbourne University Art, Architecture and Design courses.

We are also very excited about the 2020 senior Art, VCD, Media cohort and are sure that they will continue to achieve the lofty standards that have been set in 2019.
