Learning Hub and Wellbeing Update

'The Hub has become a real asset in our school, highly valued by staff and students alike.'

There have been some exciting things happening in the Hub over the last fortnight.

On Tuesday the 23rd March, students from a range of year levels participated in the G.A.T.EWAYS Enrichment program in the Hub.

What is G.A.T.EWAYS?

‘G.A.T.E.WAYS is an independent, non-funded organisation, established in 1994 to provide opportunities for highly able and gifted children with special educational needs.

Like-minded students can participate in programs that will challenge them intellectually and help develop their individual talents’.

Students connected with other students throughout the State via a Zoom conference and participated in an inquiry-based Maths or Literacy program run by presenters that are experts in that field. The program allowed the students to explore their creativity and flexibility and for them to use their problem solving and higher order thinking skills.

A huge congratulations to all of the students involved - your love for learning, enthusiasm to give something new a go and engagement in the activities was fantastic. Well Done G.A.T.EWAY participants.

A special thanks to Mr. Perry for facilitating the program on the day and to Mrs. Rowley for getting the program up and running.

It was a great way to start our Enrichment Journey at Fatima.
