Mortlake College Lego Brick Club

We are thrilled to be starting a lunch time Lego brick club for students at Mortlake College.

Our first session was very popular and we have a waiting list of excited kids for next time.

We would love for this to be a weekly event and if anyone is interested in volunteering to help run the sessions please email Kelly Moran, Anglicare community support worker.

A REMINDER

Broad Brimmed Hats — Terms 1 and 4

A reminder that in Terms 1 and 4, it is compulsory for students to wear a bottle green broad brimmed or bucket hat whilst outside.

Peaked caps, baseball caps or any other hats are not acceptable.

Hats are available from the Uniform Shop anytime.

Once again thanks to parents for helping to ensure life-long good habits that will protect children from sun exposure.

End of Day Student Messages

Just a reminder if possible if you have a message for your child for the end of the day could you please phone the office before 3:00pm. This will allow us to keep the classroom interruptions to a minimum. We do however understand that on some occasions this is not possible. We would greatly appreciate your assistance with this process.

Student Absences

Parents/Guardians are encouraged to inform the school prior to 9am of any school absences either by phone (55992204), text message (to the school text number 0427 841 239) or email (mortlake.p12@education.vic.gov.au) An SMS notification will be sent to the primary family member’s mobile number at approximately 9:30am each school morning if your child/children are not at school and their absence is unexplained.

Late arrival and early departure

If your child is late for school, they are to go directly to the General office, and they will sign them in.

If you require your child to leave class early please contact the General Office before you arrive and your child can be ready and waiting for you.

Early departure at sporting events

If any student is not returning to school/class after a sporting event, the student is to be signed out by their Parent/Guardians on the early departure sheet (See below) The teacher in charge of the sporting event will have it with them.

Written notes for early departure will be accepted but are to be given to the teacher in charge of the sporting event BEFORE the sporting event.
Text messages (to the school text number 0427 841 239) or email (mortlake.p12@education.vic.gov.au) will be accepted for early departure but are to be sent to the school BEFORE the sporting event.
Students returning to school/class are to be in full school/sports uniform.

Bus Travel:

All bus travellers are reminded of their responsibilities whilst using the school bus service. This includes remaining seated and behaving appropriately at all times. Students must also wear seat belts where fitted. With the current guidelines in place, all students over the age of 12 are required to wear a face mask on the bus at all times. Of course, the utmost care must always be taken when students get on or off the buses and it is important that parents constantly reinforce these safety measures to their children. It is also important that parents inform the office staff as early as possible about any changes in bus travel as accurate records are essential in the case of an emergency. Our bus drivers have appointed school bus captains.
