Principal's Report

As we approach the end of term 1, there is a lot to celebrate and reflect on. Despite the short lockdown, we have survived a whole term with minimal disruption regarding the potential impact of Covid-19. Our school community are to be congratulated on adhering to the required restrictions. Our students and staff have demonstrated enormous resilience over the past 12 months. Its been a fine achievement to get back to normality and resume school activities we once took for granted such as our school swimming and athletic events, interschool competitions, excursions and camps. It has also been nice to welcome back our school volunteers through programs such as the Stephanie Alexander Program.

A highlight for our students was the 3-day Advance Camp held in Torquay last week. Pictured below students warming up on the Torquay foreshore in readiness for a surf.

This Wednesday concludes our school based sporting events for the term with the Year 7-12 Athletics Sports field events commencing at 9:30am.

Please ensure you wear a hat and regularly apply sunscreen, it's expected to be warm with high UV rays.

Term 2 is shaping up to be a busy term with the school review happening. Every 4 years Victorian Government Schools undertake a school review of their achievements over the 4 year cycle. This opportunity provides a thorough reflection of our exiting programs and performance and provides the platform to shape our strategic plan for the next 4 years. We look forward to utilising this opportunity to reflect, celebrate and to improve.
