Production Camp

Hello once again!

For those who do not know me, let me introduce myself. Hi, my name is Kitana. I'm currently in Year 12 and am taking the role of Senior Performing Arts Captain for the year. I honestly very much enjoy writing these regardless of how many people read them so you may see more of these little parts in the newsletter by myself!

Recently on the last weekend of the school holidays (17th and 18th April) the production cast, crew and orchestra had our rehearsal camp for our production of Freaky Friday. It was a delight, especially since we couldn't have it last year due to the unfortunate events of COVID 19, but let's not go there and stick to the happy times we have now. This being my first production camp ever, it was really exciting and enjoyable. Time went by super fast. I took a few pictures as well during the camp for this newsletter.

I was really impressed with how well the props and set design crew did with making what they made - I'm not going to specify, maybe you can figure it out. The orchestra (which includes both GEC staff and students) is sounding great, it is going to be so good having a live band accompanying one of our shows again. The ensemble is also doing their best to do all the choreo and vocals at the same time, it's going well. And of course the cast is doing absolutely amazing in rehearsals. It's amazing, everything is amazing!

A reminder that the production will be on in June on Tuesday 22nd, Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th, keep an eye out for tickets going on sale later this term! It will be Freaky Friday, even though none of our performances are on a Friday.

Anyway that's all for this little thing by me, I hope everyone enjoys their day/lunch/night or whenever you are reading this. See you next time!
