The KWS Junior School Cross Country carnival was held on the final day of Term 1. This was a wonderful opportunity to bring all of our students together and welcome parents into the school. I would like to warmly congratulate all students on their participation in this event. The winning House on the day, in a very close finish was Brown House. An event like this does not happen without a team effort over many days of planning, checking, consulting, and revising. No small task when you also add in a change of date. I would like to thank Mr Taylor and Mrs Charlton for their outstanding effort in developing the program for the day. The Junior School staff who all played a part in communicating with students, following up on race entries and their constant efforts on the day as race marshals, place judges, result recorders, certificate writers as well as personal cheer squads and a constant source of information for students.
It was a successful start to the season with plenty of goals being scored. We look forward to hearing how they progress over the season as we hear about the colour and excitement of the games each week through our student sport reports.
It has been wonderful to see so many students arriving on a Monday and Wednesday morning in full tracksuit, top and bottoms. In an effort to minimize the loss of items the goal is for all students to go home in their full tracksuit. Parents could I ask that items are checked and that student names are clearly visible.
U9 Vipers: On Wednesday 21st April, we played OPS Emojis for our first game of netball for the season. We were all very excited to be playing netball together again. Even though we were a bit rusty and haven’t had a training session yet, we showed courage and tried our very best.
We can’t wait till next week!

U12 Kestrels: The game started off very fast and the girls played very well together as a team, it was their first game together and they all had fun, sadly the team can home with a loss but we all had fun. Thank you.
