Get involved!

There are numerous opportunities to get involved in debating and public speaking at Northcote High. The Debating Association of Victoria inter-school competition is well underway. Northcote’s six teams have been participating in this competition and thriving, winning many debates, and having a lot of fun.

The year 7s did a practice debate at the end of last term. The year 7 intra-school debating competition will begin in week six of term at lunch time on May 25. They have been busy preparing for their first debate. For anyone thinking about joining up, there are prizes, snacks, and house points available for participating!

The international student debating competition will also begin this term.

Northcote High will also be hosting the state heat for the Plain English Speaking Award competition on May 17.

All interested students should come along to our regular meetings on Tuesdays at lunch in G1, led by Mr Wall and Mr Tucker.
