From the Library

Knitting Circle is back

Knitting has been described as meditative, a creative expression, a gift to express love, a way to connect and much, much more. It is also very addictive!

The John Cain Library Knitting Circle will recommence in the library on Monday lunchtimes.  Come and learn how to cast on, knit plain and purl stitches, increase, decrease and cast off.

We will be knitting neck warmers which are a great beginner’s project.

Please bring a pair of size 4mm (old size 8) knitting needles. Many op shops have a plethora of needles or you can buy them new at craft stores.  Wool and pattern will be provided. If you are an experienced knitter, please feel free to bring your own project.

All welcome!

Introducing Jaque!

Hello,

My name is Jaqueline Richmond. I am studying the Diploma of Library and Information Service and I will be joining the Library Team for a little while.

I am originally from Brazil but I have been in Australia for 20 years. I have two children and in my spare time I enjoy reading. I love stories and when it comes to choosing a good book, I don’t discriminate - I like romance, thriller, fantasy, short stories, fairy tales and much more. Three books sit on my book shelf at all times: ‘Of love and other demons’ (Garcia Marquez), ‘Pride and Prejudice’ (Jane Austen) and ‘The Alchemist’ (Paulo Coelho). If you have read a book that you think is great, I would like to invite you to stop into the library this week. You will have the chance to recommend and display your favourite book.

Best regards to you!
