Music & Performance

Vocal Night

Last night, Wednesday 31 March, saw the MGSC Music Department end its 12 month drought of live performances with our first opportunity for students to perform to an audience since the beginning of the pandemic last year. This performance was for our All Star Choir and Madrigal as well as small groups and solo performances from vocal students. We have many more performance evenings planned. All of these performances are subject to change as guidelines around music and audiences are constantly changing.

House Performance

House Performance is just around the corner! Thursday 29 April. Last week the first house assemblies for all students and staff was held. Students were led by their house leaders in preparation for their massed items for House Performance. There will be another one of these assemblies on Monday 26 April.

I was also extremely impressed with the number of students who expressed interest in house performance this year as featured performers. We had more students audition to be soloists/small groups than ever before. The standard of these auditions was extremely high. Auditions have now finished.

I would like to congratulate the following students who have been selected by the house captains to represent their houses as a soloist or small group item. Many other students auditioned, all who will be featured performers in their houses massed items and have earnt house points for their house.
