Murray River Paddle: Monday 22 to Wednesday 24 March

As part of the year 10 Outdoor Education program, students participated in a canoe trip down the Murray River from Albury to Howlong. This 60km journey based program allowed the students to be self-sufficient for three days and two nights, camping along the banks of the Murray River and cooking their meals on trangias.

Whilst the weather wasn't kind, the trip definitely developed our resilience, along with our appreciation and gratitude for the comforts we are lucky to have at home. We worked together as a team, sung songs on our canoes as the rain was falling and cooked amazing meals to warm us up at night, including s'mores for dessert. On the second night the rain finally eased and we got to appreciate the beautiful stillness of the Murray River and surrounds, listening to the native birds and watching the current flow by. As a group we were definitely tested, but what an experience! Something we will remember forever.

Wilson's Promontory -  Monday 15 to Wednesday 17 March

The three day camp to Wilson's Prom  was the culmination of a semester of study of the environment, climate change and bush skills.  Appreciation of the magnificent scenery and the happiness of being able to experience this landscape didn't need to be taught.
