Westall SC Sports Round Up

Junior School Interschool Sports

Throughout Term 3, the Year 7 and 8 students have been competing against other schools in the Kingston area in weekly interschool sports. The chosen sports for this term have been Basketball, Futsal and Touch Rugby. Table Tennis is being played as well but will instead have a 1-day round robin against all schools.

Westall students are proving to be tough competitors against all that face them. Both years Touch Rugby boys’ teams have made the finals with strong hopes of winning, while the Year 7 girls’ team have made it to the 3rd/4th playoffs which is a tremendous achievement. Congratulations to all that were involved and good luck for the finals.

Futsal and Basketball have played with heart and desire the whole term. Despite facing tough defeats, the students never gave up and managed to pull some outstanding victories along the way. Well done to all students for their participation and effort throughout the term.

We would like to wish those playing Table Tennis the very best and to all students a huge congratulations for all they have achieved this term.

Westall Athletics Carnival Memories

- 15th August 2019

Kingston District Athletics

On Wednesday September 4th, 25 students travelled to Duncan McKinnon Reserve to represent Westall Secondary College at the annual Kingston Athletics Carnival. This carnival sees the 7 schools within their district coming together to compete in a range of track and field events. Across the board, our students competed hard picking up a range of impressive results.

Special mentions go to Nane Moeroa, Jamel Mani, Kameti Jarso and Rachel Carnahan who all won their events and will now represent Westall at the Regional finals in October. Congratulations to all students involved, whether that be through participating in events and also those who assisted your teachers on the day. Well done Westall.
