School Council

School Council Update

The following article provides an update on recent office holder elections, outlines opportunities for all to become more involved in the school and details  meeting dates for 2020.

School Council Composition 2020

The School Council elected new office holders at its first meeting of 2020;

President – Brian Bird

Vice President – Victoria Trainor

Treasurer – James Fletcher 

Secretary – Deborah Lawson

Thank you also to the newly elected parents on the School council, Victoria Trainor, Deborah Lawson and Denise Bowditch.  School Council also extends thanks also to Mim Slattery and Nick Scarborough for their contribution on School Council over the past 2 years.

Sub-Committees

The Council sub-committees for 2020 are as follows;

Building and Grounds – responsible for overseeing the maintenance and development of our buildings and grounds

Finance – responsible for the development of the school’s annual budget and ensuring proper records are kept of the school’s financial operation

Fundraising & Community Building – responsible for raising funds for school-related purposes alongside the Fair committee.  Responsible for creating a school community where all stakeholders feel they belong.  This includes organising events such as regular afternoon tea activities, guest speakers and social events for our families to enjoy.

If you are interested in volunteering for any of the committees, please email chps_schoolcouncil@cliftonhillps.vic.edu.au.  We always need involvement from more parents and carers to ensure we can achieve the priorities for our school. Being involved with a sub-committee is also a  great way of getting involved with the School Council and seeing how it runs, particularly for those that think they might like to be more deeply involved next year.
