Turquoise

What a term it was!

Term 3 was action packed with Sporting Events, Celebrations and lots of learning in Turquoise Community.

Term 3 showcased our students’ achievements outside of school in the form of sporting events and our schools Wakakirri performance. Students had the opportunity to participate in sports such as the Billy Slater Shield, House Athletics, District Athletics and Hoop Time as well as be a part of the on stage and back stage work in performing in Wakakirri.

Congratulations to all those who partook in those events, you all did amazing!

Term 3 was also the term of celebrating. We had the Lara Primary School Band in for a mini concert, invited parents in for our Father’s Day Celebration Evening, working with our prep Buddies, our 100 Days of school where we dressed as ‘100 days tired’, and our Book Week where the theme of ‘Reading in my superpower’ saw students coming as their favourite book characters and superheroes. This term we have also been working hard on designing and creating our very own Lanterns. These lanterns will be displayed during the Trail on the Lights Festival on the last day of term after school. Don’t forget to come along and see your child’s lantern design and enjoy some yummy food from the food trucks.

Our Sustainability Inquiry topic has been in full swing and we were lucky enough to get to go to CERES Sustainability Hub during Week 5. Students joined in activities from ‘In the Farm’ to a ‘Biodiversity Walk’. We walked away with so many ideas on how to make our school and lives more sustainable and can’t wait to take action in Term 4!

During Writing this term we have been working on Information Report. Students are writing information reports about Countries, Animals and the Human Body. Stay tuned for a Publishing Picnic that will be happening in Week 10 where students will get to show off their published pieces of work from Writing and Writer’s Notebook.

A reminder to our Grade 6 parents. The Grade 6 Graduation will be on Wednesday the 18th of December. There will be more information to follow about this event.

Also, Next Friday is our last day of the term. Don’t forget that school finishes at 2pm!

Hope everyone has a well-rested break and we will see you in Term 4 for another action-packed term
