Counsellor and Well-Being

Have you heard about school TV?

MCC is really excited to announce that we have launched “School TV” on our school website.

So what is School TV??

School TV is a fantastic platform for providing information around health and wellbeing which was developed by Dr Michael Carr-Gregg. Dr Carr-Gregg, who is like a modern adolescent mental health “guru”, and his team wanted to establish wellbeing support for young people by providing information that can be easily accessed by both parents and students, and given that technology is our world now, they decided that this was the most appropriate approach. School TV provides detailed information about many areas that influence the lives of young people, particularly some of the challenges they may face during their high school years. It has videos, fact sheets, ted talks, quizzes and articles that discuss and provide strategies for coping with and managing difficulties.

We really encourage you to have a look through school TV so that you can familiarise yourself with some of the topics. So to get started; log into the MCC website and look for the school TV icon. Click on it and you will be taken to a page where Dr Carr-Gregg introduces the page. You will then see a button saying “Launch School TV”. If you click on that a new page will open up with a number of topics for you to review such as; Depression, Anxiety, Exam Jitters, Diet and nutrition and so on. If you click on one of those topics another page will open that has a bunch of helpful resources for you to look at as well as some videos, fact sheets and articles. Also, There will be contact details for the school counsellor (me) in case you feel you need to discuss any issues in particular. We hope you find this resource useful as a means for providing support to your young person through any challenges that may arise.

Have a great weekend
