SWIMMING CARNIVAL - WEDNESDAY 27 FEBRUARY

The annual McKinnon Swimming Carnival is fast approaching this term. The carnival will be held at Caulfield/Carnegie pool, once again, which is located on Moira ave in Caulfield. Parents are reminded that students will be expected to meet at the pool on Wednesday 27 February by 8:45am for roll call. Students will be dismissed from the venue at 2:45pm. The theme for this year’s carnival is “Hawaiian beach party" and we encourage all students to shop at the local op shops and dress in their House colours. Hopefully we see some funky outfits and the day promises to be an excellent day for students to participate in a range of activities including swimming, beach volleyball, water polo and table tennis.

Please note that attendance is compulsory.

SENIOR BOYS CRICKET

A traditionalist can be defined as "an advocate of maintaining tradition, especially so as to resist change". When it comes to cricket, I am exactly that. I love the battles of test cricket, the crisp white shirts, the luscious outfields, the picket fences, and the cucumber sandwiches.

None of that was present at the annual Senior Boys Cricket Round Robin day. A series of 10 over cricket matches are hard to watch for a cricket tragic like myself, but it was made better with the fact that I was able to spend the day with some of McKinnon's finest.

The stars on the day were Jacob Gray, with a swashbuckling 50 in the opening round against Bentleigh, and our impressive spin attack lead by captain Miles Sellenger and Liam O'Brien.

McKinnon ended the day as Runners-Up to eventual champions Parkdale.

Thanks to all the boys for representing the College proudly on the day.
