Intermediate Boys Soccer
After two narrow losses and a draw, the Intermediate Boys saved their best performance for the last game against St Peter’s with Joshua Martino scoring a brace which included a last minute winner and a Man of the Match performance by Jarrel Sharma. The boys gave a good account of themselves in every game but losing each game by a goal ultimately cost them the flag. There were some great performances by Peter Swan, Alex Dimitrovski and MVP Sasoon Demirician.
We go again next year!

Senior Boys Basketball
Congratulations gentlemen, on a great season of Senior Boys’ Basketball. I am so proud of the boys’ efforts on and off the court. The boys are extremely talented, competitive and spirited.
Chris Adieng showed leadership in setting up defensive play and was dangerous when driving to the basket. Jericho Jimenez and John Assaad crashed boards, while Lucas Gorgen had a few tussles with our opponent’s offensive bigs. Trent Andre was our big scorer, always being first out on the transition, while Jason Yakub was Naz’s dominate point guard setting up offensive play and finding the basket. Luke Ferraro pulled off a cheeky reverse layup, as Jack Craig and Anthony Mastromanno’s athleticism and skill led to Naz winning turn overs. Japeth Begashaw and Ronan Searle hit important outside shots in the game’s big moments. Each player played their role and contributed to Naz’s success.
It was a pleasure working with such a motivated group of young men and supporting them in improving their game. GO TEAM!

Junior Girls Indoor Cricket
What a terrific bunch of young ladies. They were always positive and upbeat, the Year 8 girls welcomed and supported the Year 7s who were a little shy and nervous and they really jelled as a team. Everyone listened to advice and were soon able to adopt many of the strategies that are part of the game of indoor cricket.
We went through the season undefeated (winning the premiership), a great effort girls.
Our most valuable player, as voted by the girls themselves, was awarded to Sarah Mortensen.

Intermediate Girls Indoor Cricket
The Intermediate Girls Indoor Cricket team played a total of 5 games and, in all of them, played some very good cricket. A very determined group of girls, their skills improved with the more games they played and by the last game, all the girls should be very pleased with the results they were achieving.
The team members were: Milla Amy, Ashley Arcigal, Alessia Assetta, Tyra Dale, Sara Kendirjian, Monique Di Ciero, Natalie Kerassitis, Nina Le, Kristy Machuca, Amy Nguyen, Laura Pascuzzi, Catherine Pavlidakis and Chantel Zhemi.
Well done girls – your efforts were great!

Junior Boys Touch Rugby
The concept of throwing the ball backwards accurately to a team member and running forwards at the same time is a difficult skill to master. Include other team game concepts of space and time and you start to understand that the application of teaching Year 7 and 8 boys the skills of understanding Touch Rugby is challenging. Regardless, over the five weeks of playing the following school teams, Woodleigh, SFX Berwick, St Peter's, St John's and St James', the boys began to develop the skills required to work together as a team and transition the ball towards the goal line.
Whilst we did not win a game, the boys can be proud of the way they conducted themselves representing Nazareth College.
