Reflection

As we come to the end of Term 3 it is a good time to pause and reflect a little on what we have achieved and been blessed with throughout this term.  As Catholics we believe that our life is a gift and that God is the giver of all good gifts. The practise of thanksgiving is a great spiritual discipline and helps us become more aware of God’s presence and providence in our lives.

As we reflect on the term we can recall successes, challenges we met, struggles we got through and moments of achievement, friendship and joy.  We bring all these to mind and give thanks to God for all these experiences, opportunities and in a special way all the wonderful people we are so blessed to have in our Nazareth Family.

In the Christian life, our faith, awareness of God’s presence, gratitude to God and others in our lives grow from having a heart of gratitude.  The heart of gratitude also helps us to see what others do, see what others need and be more generous in reaching out to others.  Let us get into the practice each day of making time at the end of the day to stop, be still and silent, come into the presence of God in prayer and recall the good moments, people and experiences of the day and give thanks to God for these.  As Psalm 136 says ‘Give thanks to the Lord for he is good’.
