House Cross Country

The House Cross Country event was held around the Nazareth College grounds on Tuesday 7 May. Each year level took to the track and gave it their best effort. It was great to see so many of our students running the 3km and 4km courses and achieving success for their Houses. Those unable to run attempted the course by walking and still earned some house points for giving it a go. It was a great day with the weather perfect for running.

Thank you to all the staff for assisting with marshaling, timekeeping and warm up on the day. A huge thank you to the following staff who helped the whole day:

Mr John Brenton

Mr Adam Ferraro

Ms Sue Formanek

Ms Kate Shea

Victorian School Associations Competition

Based on our results at the SIS Swimming Carnival, we  had five students selected to participate in the Victorian School Association Competition on Monday 13 May at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), and represented SIS against other regions in Victoria.

After a ceremony under the rotunda in the park opposite MSAC the 56 students selected for the SIS swimming squad proudly wore their polo shirts and processed closely together, lead by our Flinders student team captain Lachlan Howell, towards MSAC to compete in the Victorian Schools Association Competition  (VSAC).

All 13 SIS schools had students representing them in the squad. Our students, competing against 13 very strong associations,  were up for the challenge. They were sensational, and if you see our swimmers please congratulate them and thank them for being a part of the SIS team.

Trung Le, Emily Brennan, Adrian Belevski, Marko Belevski, and Caitlin Williams were all selected from Nazareth to compete for SIS in the Victorian School Associations Competition which was a great achievement. Caitlin Williams was selected but, due to Production commitments, had to decline the offer and did not compete on the evening, however, this was a great recognition of Caitlin's achievement in the SIS competition.
